PURPOSE:The titled composition suitable as slot liner of motor, etc., useful as extrusion molded article, having clarity, thermal stability, electrical characteristics, etc., containing a specific amount of a metal of group IA of the periodic table and a metal of group IIA. CONSTITUTION:A polyphenylene sulfide having >=70mol% constituent unit shown by formula is obtained by polymerization, the resin is cleaned with ion exchange water and treated with an aqueous solution containing an ion of group IIA of fixed concentration so that Xppm of metal (e.g., Li, Na, etc.,) of group IA and Yppm of metal (e.g., Mg, Ca, etc.,) of group IIA are adjusted to a range of 700<X+Y<2,000, X>100, Y>100, preferably X>100, Y>300.
