A roll (10) consists of two separately arranged metal foil electrodes (11,12) with interposed polypropylene film strips (13,14). Further film strips (15,16) complete the roll so that a part of them is located between the foil electrode strip in the complete roll. Outlet components (17,18) are inserted in the roll so that they locate against the electrode strip to serve as electrical connections for the electrodes. The components may be eliminated, however, with the first electrode (11) projecting above the roll, and the second beneath it, both being then joined together. - One or more rolls are inserted in a casing which is then filled with an aromatic carbohydrate e.g. dielectric fluid. The outputs are joined together and connected to terminals. At least one side of the polypropylene film strips is roughened. |
