摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress the breakage of abrasive grains and prevent the deterioration in grinding performance by relatively shifting a grinding stone installed onto the main shaft of an NC machine tool and a wire electrode by the NC device and carrying out the electric discharge machining, thus shaping the grindstone into a desired shape and carrying out the working with high precision in a short time. CONSTITUTION:When a grinding stone 1 installed through a grindstone holding tool 2 onto a tool main shaft is worn out, or the shape is to be changed, each revolution shown by the arrows A and D and a rectilinear movement are applied onto the grinding stone 1, and a feeder brush 18 is pressed onto the grinding stone 1 which revolves slowly, applying the slow revolution B onto the feeder brush 18, and electricity is fed. A wire electrode 14 supported by a wire electrode guide 11 is provided with the feed shown by the arrow C, and the electric discharge machining is started at the position close to the grinding stone 1. The relative shift (arrows D and E) between the grinding stone 1 and the wire electrode 14 is controlled by the NC device of an NC machine tool. Therefore, the electric discharge machining can be carried out with high precision in a short time, since the work is carried out with the grinding stone 1 mounted, and since a basic material is shaped through the electric discharge machining, the breakage of abrasive grains is suppressed, and the deterioration of grinding performance is prevented.
