The invention relates to a short joy stick control device for controlling aircraft and weapon systems in the roll and pitch axes, in the case of which the two control axes - roll and pitch - have different lever lengths as a result of the use of suitable drives, at least one axis having a virtual lever length which is greater than its physical or mechanical length. The invention considerably improves the physical characteristic of human hand movement. <IMAGE>
