The invention relates to a device for pumping any liquid at a considerable depth, which device comprises: An alternating surface control unit, particularly having two spindles 7, 8 equipped with pistons 11, 13 which can move in the cylinders 9, 10 connected, at a considerable depth, to a pump body D by ducts 17, 18, the submerged pump body D comprising three distinct chambers A B C in which a spindle 25, supporting three pistons 21, 26, 27, moves. The first duct 18 connects the control station to the lower chamber B by means of a valve and is connected by a bypass 19 to the part C2 of the chamber C. The second duct 17 connects the control station to the upper chamber A by a valve 24 and is connected to the part C1 of the chamber C. The chambers A and B open to the outside via valves 23 and 22, respectively. A regulator included between the pump and the control unit and comprising two horizontal ducts 30, 31 connecting the vertical ducts 17, 18, each horizontal duct having a pressure-adjusting valve 32, 33. <IMAGE>
