<p>Compounds of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R is H, Cl, F, CH3 or OCH3; R1 is H or CH3; R2 is H, CH3 or C2H5; and X is O, S or SO2; provided that when R1 and R2 are simultaneously H, then X is O, and agriculturally suitable salts thereof exhibit herbicidal activity and in particular show selectivity as herbicides for broad spectrum weed control in oilseed rape. The compounds may be made by a variety of synthetic routes, e.g. by reacting the appropriate benzothiophenesulfonylisocyanate with the appropriate aminotriazine.</p> |
