The invention relates to a method of remotely identifying objects fitted with a coded label 1. According to the invention, the label 1 comprises at least one part 6 made of a piezoelectric material having at least one resonator 2 and is fitted with an emitter element 3, the said objects are subjected to an electromagnetic field, the resonator 2 being made to resonate controlling the activation of the said emitter element 3, and the emission from the emitter element or elements 3 is detected and analysed. The invention also relates to a label and an insulation for implementing the abovementioned method. The invention applies in particular to the inputting of purchases made in a shop. <IMAGE>
