PURPOSE:To provide the thermal recording material of efficient in freshness keeping quality, high in thermal coloring property, low in the decrease of recording image density due to the long storage after thermal recording and good in its hue balance, by a method wherein for the thermal recording material of which on the base material to recording layer containing diazo compound and coupling component is coated, the coupling component consisting of a specific phenol compound is contained in said recording layer. CONSTITUTION:At least no less than one kind of phenol compound represented by general formula (I) or (II) are contained in said recording layer. In that case, it is preferable that either of diazo compound or coupling component is contained in a micro-capsule. Further, the phenol compound represented by above-mentioned general formula (I) or (II) should preferably be not less than 10 in total carbon atomic number and 50-250 deg.C in melting point from the viewpoint of the keeping quality at high temperatures and high humidity. Benzyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate, benzyl gallate, etc., are exemplified as a definite compound. |
