In a method for driving electromagnetic consumers comprising at least one magnetic coil, particularly of magnetically actuatable injecting valves, through at least one controllable switch, there is used an inductive energy available, after an electromagnetic consumer has been switched off, in the magnetic coil of the latter (10, 10a) through which the current circulates, for switching on an electromagnetic consumer. Furthermore, a circuit for implementing such method is characterized in that at least one capacitor (17, 17a, 17') connected to an electromagnetic consumer is used to temporarily store the inductive energy available in the magnetic coil (10, 10a) of an electromagnetic consumer upon its switching off.
