The invention relates to a self-supporting, screened primary high-voltage winding. A primary high-voltage winding having a defined inductance and quality is produced, as a precise component, by means of a special method, the primary high-voltage winding intrinsically forming a homogeneous unit with the individual components. If it is suitably shaped, the winding is suitable for retrospective installation in an existing high-voltage coil former.
