PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous confirmation due to visual sensation and to dispense with color correction work by separating luminosity, saturation and a color phase component from a composite color image signal and outputting binary signals under a condition entering a set range to discriminate a color. CONSTITUTION:The lens 1 of an NTSC system color TV camera 2 is adjusted so as to be capable of picking up the image of an object to be inspected and colors are indicated based on the voltages of setting devices 8-10. Signals of the composite color image ES, horizontal synchronism HS and vertical synchronism VS of the picked-up image are separated, and signals of VS, HS are inputted to synchronous synthesizer circuit 16 and a signal ES is separated into signals of brightness Y and a carrier color S1 by a trap circuit 3 and a band pass filter (BPF) circuit 4 to be regenerated as a sub-carrier signal S3 by a synchronous oscillation circuit 6. When an amplitude component S2 obtained by separating a signal Y and a signal S1 by an amplitude detection circuit 5 and the signal S4 detected so as to correspond to a color phase by detection circuit 7 are inputted to window comparators 12-14, a binary luminosity component S5, a binary saturation component S6 and a binary color phase component S7 are generated to be inputted to an AND circuit 15 and, if set ranges coincide, a control signal S8 is inputted to a synthesizer circuit 16 to output a binary white and black image signal S9.
