PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of reinforcing bars due to salinity and its attendant concrete deterioration, by specifying the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Al, P, S, Cr, Fe, Ti, V, B, etc. CONSTITUTION:This reinforcing bar having resistance to sea-water corrosion has a composition consisting of <=1% C, <=0.25% Si, <=2% Mn, 7-20% Al, <=0.015% P, <=0.005% S, 0.5-5.5% Cr, and the balance Fe or further containing, besides the above, one ore more elements among Ti, V, Nb, W, Co, Mo, and B so that total quantity of the elements other than B is 0.01-0.5% and the amount of B is 0.0001-0.005%. Since this reinforcing bar has resistance to salt corrosion, the cracking and deterioration of the reinforced concrete using this bar can be prevented from occurring.
