PURPOSE:To know the progressing state of a printing operation and to improve operability in case information is resent by displaying the reproducing state of a medium when the abnormality of an external device is discriminated. CONSTITUTION:Whether a print flag is SET or not is discriminated, if the flag is SET, whether an F/F signal is H level or not is discriminated. If it is detected that the F/F signal is L level, an error such as the deficiency in ink, the deficiency in a printing paper is produced in a printer side, a jacket is injected in order to stop a successive printing by deciding that the printing is not normally carried out and then, the display of NO is performed by a display device 25'. Thereby, a track No in which the abnormality is produced can be recognized and the operability is improved at the time of transmitting the information to the external device again.
