A group of electromagnets, for actuating printing needles, is encompassed by a toroidal body which is in thermal communication with the electromagnets. The neck (22) of the body is formed with recesses recesses which receive the ends of the electromagnet cores which project from a cylindrical body (19) of a plastics material. Inlet and outlet openings (25,27) are formed in a plastics moulding (A) which is formed as a cap for the body. A flexible plastics tongue (28) secured to the inner wall of the moulding (A), above the inlet, provides the unidirectional valve. As the printer head in its carriage is accelerated from one side to the other of the frame, the liquid in the body cavity is drained through a conduit which is connected with the outlet. The valve opens to admit fluid drawn through the inlet, into the cavity. |
