PURPOSE:To promote vaporization of fuel by producing circulating swirls in the lower half of a pre-combustion cup, by punching a number of air holes to feed a secondary air on the upper half of a pre-combustion cup on the outlet side of it. CONSTITUTION:A pre-combustion cup 4 is provided at the end of a liquid fuel spray nozzle 1, and a secondary air passage 11, surrounded by an air pipe 9, is provided concentrically around the cup 4. A number of air holes 8, 8... to feed a secondary air to a combustion space 7 are punched on the upper half of a pre-combustion cup 4 on the outlet side of it. When the secondary air is fed into the combustion space 7 through the secondary air passage 11 and the air holes 8, 8..., together with liquid fuel directly injected into the combustion space 7 from the liquid fuel spray nozzle 1, circulating swirls A, A' going to the direction of an outlet along the inside of a pre-combustion cup 4 are produced. Since the liquid fuel is sprayed into those swirls, vaporization of sprayed fuel can be promoted. At the same time the vaporized fuel is mixed further with the secondary air while it is going to the outlet side of a pre- combustion cup 4. In such a manner complete combustion can be accomplished.
