PURPOSE:To reduce the number of transfers between stations an facilitate the monitoring of a machining operation by providing a traveling bogie on which a pair of operating stations are provided before a machining station, and carrying out the delivery of a pallet by making said traveling bogie travel. CONSTITUTION:A pallet replacing device 10 has two operating stations B1, C1 which are placed on a common transferring bogie 11 and each of which has a pallet transferring means 30. These operating stations B1, C1 are provided in parallel before a machining station A which is the working position of a vertical lathe 1 as a machine tool. And, the operating stations B1, C1 are opposed to the machining station A in a predetermined order to carry out the delivery of a pallet P between the machining station A and the operating stations B1, C1. Accordingly, the delivery of the pallet P can be directly carried out between the machining station A and the operating stations B1, C1, enabling efficient operation. Also, two operating stations B1, C1 enables approach to the machining station A, to facilitate the monitoring of a machining condition.
