PURPOSE:To enable a driver to view a range from the side to the rear of his vehicle accurately by causing a motor-operated, side-mounted rearview mirror to make temporary stops by detecting a return stop position for confirming the rear view and by detecting an externally directed stop position for confirming the side view by means of swing instructions. CONSTITUTION:When a positive voltage is applied to a brush 9 and the brush starts swinging, a rearview mirror which has been set in a return stop position where a driver can have a clear view in the rear direction is driven to move to an externally directed stop position where the driver have a clear view in the side direction and a tip of the brush 9 forming an externally directed stop detection means rides on a cut 6. On the other hand, when a positive voltage is applied to a brush 10 under the condition of the tip of the brush 9 riding on the cut 6, a motor 3 rotates, and when the rearview mirror surface returns from the externally directed stop position by rotation toward the return stop position and reaches there, the brush 10 forming a return stop position detection means rides on a cut 7 so that the motor 3 is stopped. When cancelling a swing instruction, voltages are applied to terminals t15 and t17 to stop the rearview mirror at a stop position by means of a brush 7. |
