Removing dust from gases and process and device for separating very fine particles, smaller than a micron in size, from a gas stream at a high flow rate and in which the dust concentration is low. According to the invention the gas is subjected to a prewashing 10 by spraying a liquid into the gas stream, the particles are made to agglomerate by passing the gas stream through one or more venturis 12, a washing liquid is sprayed into the gas stream 16, the trapping of the dust by the droplets of the washing liquid is brought about by dividing the gas stream into partial streams which are projected one against the other 18 and the droplets are separated from the gas stream 20. The invention may, in particular, find an application in the removal of dust from the exhaust gases of prilling (nitrate or urea granulation) towers. <IMAGE> |
