PURPOSE:To enable the determining of the deterioration of oil continuously and easily, by measuring changes in the amount of ion of alkaline earth metal in a lubricant with an ion sensitive FE transistor to detect the degree of degrading of oil. CONSTITUTION:As the use of a lubricant goes on, moisture increases and alkaline earth metal is dissolved in water to ionize. So, when changes in ion is detected with an ion sensitive FE type transistor (ISFET sensor), the deterioration of oil can be judged. For example, a neutral carrier is employed for a sensitive film of the ISFET sensor with respect to Ca ions and a sensor and a reference electrode are arranged in an oil container to detect changes in the form of Ca measuring an electromotive force generated therebetween. Then, the degree of the deterioration of oil is judged by changes in the amount of ion thereby enabling the determining of the deterioration of oil continuously and easily. |
