PURPOSE:To instantaneously detect the abnormal contact of the blade of a cleaning device to a drum and to easily recognize an abnormal place by electrically detecting a contact between a blade fitting plate and a blade pressure adjusting means. CONSTITUTION:An adjusting screw 26 is set so that one side of the blade fitting plate 21 can abut on the adjusting screw 26 in the turning angle position where a cleaning blade 7 is abutted against a photosensitive drum with prescribed pressure. If the cleaning blade has the abnormality to lose its cleaning function due to the fatigue of a blade spring in the cleaning blade 7 or the looseness of a fitting screw, the blade fitting plate 21 becomes separated from the adjusting screw 26, and the condition between lead wires 27 and 28 is interrupted. A signal showing the interruption is given to a main circuit, to display the abnormality of a cleaning blade to an operating section. Thus a user easily detects that the blade loses its cleaning function from an outside, and easily recognizes the abnormal place. |
