The pipe branch for a line through which fluid passes is provided with a connection stub (4) which can be connected to the line, projects, by means of a continuation (7), into a pipe portion (1), exhibits an axial through-passage (5) and can be connected in a sealing manner to the pipe portion (1). The connection stub (4) is a constituent part of a first shell body (3). A second shell body (9) is assigned. The two shell bodies (3, 9) engage around the outer circumference of the pipe portion (1) and can be latched to one another, forming a snap-type connection (10) in the process. On the first shell body (3) there is provided a sealing ring (11) which encloses the continuation (7) and can be pressed on via a contact-pressure force provided by the snap-type connection (10). <IMAGE>
