PURPOSE:To edit format information at high speed and with no mistake by providing a print format setting part at a transmission side and a register part at a reception side respectively and changing the print format into the one that does not exist at the reception side. CONSTITUTION:When the print format is changed into the one that does not exist at the reception side 20, a format consisting of the character information excluding a designating column for print format is set to a print format setting part 31 provided at the transmission side 10. The binary information corresponding to the format designating column is set to a binary information generating part 12. The print format sent from the part 31 is given to a register part 32. Then a format memory number and a print format are stored in the dead table of print format memories 221-22n. The contents of said dead table are read out and sent to a compiling output part 23 and the binary information received from the part 12 is out into the designating column for editing. In such a way, the format information is edited at high speed and with no mistake. |
