To protect exposed films, coverings designed specifically for this purpose are known. The protective covering according to the invention consists of two webs (1, 2) whose longitudinal edges are offset relative to each other. On one longitudinal side of the protective covering, the webs (1, 2) are connected to one another by an adhesive strip (4). The edge of a film lies between the longitudinal edges disposed offset relative to one another, which edge is thus fixed in the pouch. The web (1) assigned to the back of the film (3) can consist of a matt film in order to form a background which is favourable for the viewer, whereas the web (2) assigned to the front can consist of a transparent film. The webs which are connected to each other only on one side can be pulled off easily and without leaving residues when carrying out a repeat order in the laboratory. <IMAGE>
