Process for producing plywood for table tennis bats, in which three to eleven layers of wood veneer are coated with glue and then pressed at an elevated temperature to form plywood. In order that the table tennis bats produced from plywood are provided with very good defensive properties, the layers of veneer are provided with a layer of 80 to 120 g/m<2> of polyvinyl acetate dispersion glue and, after leaving exposed for one to two minutes, placed one on top of the other and, after a further four to eight minutes, pressed at a temperature of 40 to 50@C. Advantageously, five layers of veneer of aspen wood, in particular Swedish aspen, are used for producing the plywood.
