The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for changing cellular plates (4, 4') of a filling machine which have container receptacles, in which the cellular plates are extracted in succession in the filling machine and cellular plates having the container receptacles of a different format are inserted essentially simultaneously into the filling machine. This takes place in that a changing device (6) receives the cellular plates of the first format at a first reception point of a magazine and transfers the cellular plates (4') of different format to the machine at a transfer point located at a distance therefrom. An exact change of cellular plates can thereby be carried out very quickly and by simple means. <IMAGE>
