The invention relates to a polygonal container made of cardboard or similar material, of the type comprising a body and a lid fitting over it which must fit over the body in a cover-like manner. It is characterised in that the body and the lid are constituted by two identical parts 1 and 2 each of which has a bottom 100, walls 101, 102, 103 and 104 standing up with respect to the said bottom 100 and adjacent to each other, and tabs 131, 132, 133 and 134 which are integral with the ends of the walls 101 and 102 and which are each folded parallel to the plane of the adjacent wall 103-104 and which are fitted such that they are mobile with respect to the said wall 103-104 in order to have the capability of angular deflection corresponding to different inclinations of the wall 101-102 which supports them with respect to the bottom 100, each tab being marked with two grooving lines 135-141, 136-142 which converge towards the corner formed by the bottom 100, the tab in question and the wall which supports this tab. <IMAGE>
