In a key with a key bit fastened to one end of a rotary body, and with a grip provided at the other end, a movable ring is drawn onto the rotary body so as to be incapable of being stripped off, in the region between the bit and the grip, for the purpose of individualising marking. For use as a toy, for example as a magic key, an extension of the rotary body is removable or the key can be taken apart, so that the ring can be stripped off and slipped on.
