A device for producing ozone is described which has a first electrode body (10) having one principal surface which is covered with a layer (16) of a dielectric material. A second electrode body (12) made of electrically conducting material is situated opposite the dielectric layer (16) and is spaced apart from the support body (10) for the dielectric layer (16) by means of spacer devices (14). The dielectric layer (16) provided on the first electrode body (10) has inhibitors (18) at least on the surface facing the second electrode body (12) to prevent a conversion of ozone into oxygen. <IMAGE>
