PURPOSE:To prevent dust pollution and damage to road surfaces by providing, in each wheel hub, a device for feeding compressed air into a pressure-proof tube under control from the cabin to move spike actuating rods back and forth so as to extend and retract spikes. CONSTITUTION:A switch is turned on in the cabin so as to feed compressed air into a pressure-proof tube 19 from a compressor through a rotary joint 41. Thereby the proof-pressure tube 19 is inflated so as to push out actuating rods 13, and therefore, spike parts 15 are projected outward from the tread surface 2a of a tire 2 by a length (l). At this time, in this arrangement, since a spike device is attached to each wheel hub 1, it rotates together with a wheel 3 while the spike parts 15 exhibit a spike function. Further, when the pressure in the pressure-proof tube 19 reaches a predetermined value, the supply of air is stopped. Further, when the switch is turned off to discharge compressed air, the spike parts 15 are retracted so as to effect the normal tire function. Thus, it is possible to aim at preventing pollution.
