PURPOSE:To facilitate washing of the titled lens, and to obtain the detergent which does not injure the contact lens by suspending a water soluble compd. of specific powders in a dispersible medium which is a water soluble and nonaqueous type. CONSTITUTION:The detergent is formed by suspending the water soluble compd. (polymer powders) which is composed of one or two kinds of methyl cellulose, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, sodium alginate and gelatin, and has particle size of 0.1-20mum, into the dispersion which is the water soluble and nonaqueous type. The compd. remained on the lens after washing it, can wash off, thereby facilitating the washing of the titled lens by using the water soluble compd. which is soluble to water and does not injure the lens. As the result, the detergent which does not injure the contact lens is obtd.
