To date, house and flat doors have been secured against attacks only by means of door chains and the like. These offered, when the door was open, inadequate security and were easy to overcome. By using this novel device then, when faced with danger, for example if the door is ajar and secured by a door chain and the caller turns out to be a wrongdoer and tries to force a way in or prevents the inhabitant from closing the door again, a quick pull on the trigger loop will see the wrongdoer away for good.
