PURPOSE:To improve the ink acceptability and the sharpness, water resistance, etc., of a recording image, by a method wherein a material to be recorded by ink jetting is prepared by compounding a poly(meth)acrylic acid polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 100 thousand or more. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid is prepared by dissolving or dispersing a poly(meth)acrylic acid polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 100 thousand or more in a single form or in a mixed form with a polymer in an appropriate solvent. This coating liquid is coated on a light-transmitting substrate by a well-known method such as a roll coating method and, thereafter, dried rapidly; in this manner, a material to be recorded by ink jetting is obtained. As the poly(meth)acrylic acid polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 100 thousand or more, a polymer containing a methacrylic acid as a monomer unit is used, including alkal metal salt, alkaline earth metal salt, amine salt, ammonium salt, and the like of the aforesaid polymer. |
