Device for stirring a liquid contained in a receptacle, of the type comprising a shaft provided at one end with at least one stirring propeller and at its other end a motor for driving the shaft in rotation about its lengthwise axis 8. The shaft 6 is carried by a first support 4 on which it is mounted so that it pivots about a horizontal axis 7, the said support 4 itself being carried by a second support 3 on which it is mounted so as to rotate about a vertical axis 9, the said second support 3 being stationary in relation to the receptacle 1, and the horizontal axis 7 of pivoting of the shaft 6 being situated between the motor 10 and the propeller(s) 11. <IMAGE>
