In the device for the manufacture of fibres a jet 1 of molten inorganic mass is cast on the outer surface of a series of metal discs 3, 4, 5, 6 rotating at high speed. The outer surface of these discs 3, 4, 5, 6 comprises a layer of a material exhibiting a thermal conductivity low enough for the temperature of the molten mass 1 to be maintained substantially unchanged between the first 3 and the last disc 6, this material withstanding the temperature of the molten mass and the chemical attack of the latter and this material being wetted by this molten mass at least like the metal of the discs 3, 4, 5, 6. Use for manufacturing inorganic fibres exhibiting few pearls. <IMAGE>
