The invention relates to a device making it possible to right a capsized multi-hulled boat without external aid. It consists of movable auxiliary rigging fixed under the floor between the hulls, which includes a spar 1 pivoting about an articulation 2, guys 4, 5, 6 which hold the spar, a cable 7 actuated by a winch 8 and guided by a pulley at the head of the spar, and a bag 9 pulled via the cable. After capsizing, the crew pivots the spar outwards, anchors the guys, throws the bag into the sea and actuates the winch. The sack filled with water is heavy enough for the tension on the cables to give rise to another capsizing which rights the ship. This device is particularly intended for righting commercial and cruising catamarans and trimarans. <IMAGE>
