PURPOSE:To improve the power generation efficiency and reduce the carbon deposition degree by providing a shift converter in a fuel gas feed line to modify the gas fed to anode to carbon dioxide gas and hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A gas which bas been coal gasified in a gasification sub-system I is introduced into a shift converter 21 in a process of gas modification sub-system VI through a gas purification sub-system II. Since water (H2O) required for shift reaction is fed from a line 22 to an upstream side of the shift converter 21, the shift reaction firmly takes place at the shift converter 21. By the arrangement, hydrogen gas can be increased, decreasing the carbon deposition degree at anode 3 as well as increasing the cell voltage, resulting in improved power generation efficiency. |
