The invention relates to a holder for a writing means, such as a pencil, ball-point pen or the like, to protect the hand holding and guiding the writing means and/or the forearm from over-exertion and cramp and, at the same time, avoid necessary rest breaks to relax the writing hand. As a result of such rest breaks the coherence, for example of rapid speech, may in some cases be recorded with interruptions.
