The invention relates to a trailer for transporting livestock, with a fixed undercarriage, with fixed side walls, a rear, lowerable loading ramp and with a roof covering which can be lowered relative to the undercarriage. With this trailer the intention is to provide a solution with which the loading of animals, in particular horses, is simplified, the known advantage at the same time being maintained of being able to shelter trailers equipped in this manner even in spaces with a low ceiling height. This is achieved in that the roof covering (8) is designed as a covering (7) which is fixed on the undercarriage (2) via supporting and clamping bows (11) and can be put up and lowered in the manner of a convertible. <IMAGE>
