An improved gauge for measuring the density of stationary as well as streaming fluids. The gauge comprises a plate (1) immersed in the fluid and excited to vibrate by two piezoelectrical crystals (3, 5 and 2, 4) situated diametrically opposite each other. These crystals excite the plate to vibrate with such a frequency that there is created four converging nodal lines dividing the plate (1) in four areas of equal sizes. Two such areas situated adjacent each other will vibrate in anti-phase and the plate (1), i.e. the transmitter, forms with an amplifier an oscillator having its output connected to the electronic equipment which convert the frquency as measured to a digital value. |
