There is proposed a fixator as a repositioning and stabilising element for the spine, in which two spaced-apart jaw bodies for clamping of shaft screws are mounted on a threaded rod. For reliable positioning of the jaw bodies and hence of the shaft screws the threaded rod possesses opposed threaded sections on which one of the two jaw bodies is in each case screwed with a corresponding internal screw thread. Additional safety screws are no longer required.
