[Class 7 (iii)] The centre 4 of a vertical casing 1 is reduced in bore to receive a nozzle 11 formed by the reduced end of a tubular member 10, open to the atmosphere at its lower end, and an oil inlet 14 opens into the reduced bore 4 at right angles to the air nozzle 11, the mixture rising through an outwardly widening part 5 of the bore to a tube 20 containing oppositely rotating propeller-like devices 21. A water inlet 18 may be disposed opposite the oil inlet. Needle valves 13, 16, 19 control the inlets 14, 18 and the air nozzle 11 while a rotatable sleeve 9 on the casing 1 opens or closes supplementary air ports 8. The tubular member 10 is adjustable vertically in a lining 6 in the casing and clamped by a screw 17. The propeller-like devices 21 are mounted in pairs on a spindle 22 carried by spiders 25, 26 and the upper part of the tube has a wider bore than the lower part to accommodate a larger pair of the devices. |
