The invention relates to wear protection on a guide piece (10) which is guided on a guide, e.g. a plough guide. Used here as wear protection are carbide pins (17), preferably in the form of straight pins, which are arranged on the wearing surfaces of the guide piece (10) transversely to the running direction of the machine carrying the guide piece and are preferably embedded in a matrix (cast steel or the like). The carbide pins arranged parallel to one another are designed in peripheral contour in such a way that, even during wear, they do not have or do not form any sharp edges which lead to damage of the fixed guide surface by cutting or notching action. <IMAGE>
