Disclosed are a method and apparatus for determining a relay state of a device straight-through system. The method comprises: a relay user equipment (UE) acquires relay configuration information and/or receives device-to-device (D2D) information; and determine a relay state of the relay UE according to the relay configuration information and/or the D2D information. The apparatus is located in a relay user equipment (UE) and comprises an information acquisition module and a state determining module.
