PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality of the output of a sensor readily by a simple constitution, by outputting the acceleration, which is detected by a detection circuit as an analog signal. CONSTITUTION:A pendulum type acceleration sensor 10 is supported with a fixed main body and attached to a vehicle. The output of the sensor 10 is inputted into an analog/digital converter 21 in a control circuit 20 for controlling the specified parts of the vehicle in correspondence with acceleration G. The input part of the converter 21 is pulled up to 5V through a high resistance part 22. Signals for checking the states of light emitting diodes 121 and 131 are outputted from the control circuit 20 when the control circuit 20 and the sensor 10 are started to operate. Therefore, when an ignition switch is closed to start an engine and a power source is connected to the sensor 10 and the control part 20 so as to start both parts, the checking signals are outputted to transistors 23 and 24 from the control circuit 20. The light emitting diodes 121 and 131 of photocouplers 12 and 13 are short-circuited, and the fault checks of the diodes 121 and 131 are carried out. |
