The invention provides a method for securely fixing eyelets into a belt such as an individual equipment belt without damaging weft and warp yarns in the belt fabric. The apparatus includes a guide device for feeding eyelets (50) from a feeder, an actuator member (12) having a head section (14) with a guide tool (16) and a conveyer (4) for feeding and positioning a belt to receive eyelets, which are guided through a guide device to its end to be inserted onto the guide tool (16) for fixing into the belt.
