<p>An automatic head position servo for a rotary scan recording and reproducing machine, in which a correction circuit (62, 65) for the correction of high frequency tracking errors samples the dynamic error at a multiplicity of locations during the following of each track. Average values of the samples for each location are stored and continually updated. The updating is inhibited at a reproducing speed at which transverse repositioning of the head occurs for alternate tracks.</p> |
