<p>The process described comprises the following steps: a) combustible waste materials in solid, paste or liquid form are burnt in an incinerator with a combustion gas containing at least 50 % oxygen. Non-ferrous metals and/or non-ferrous metallic compounds and/or non-ferrous metallic oxides and/or alkaline compounds and/or alkaline earth compounds are present as a result of combustion of substances which yield them together with the waste and/or of the inclusion of corresponding compounds in the combustion plant together with the charge of waste materials or in the hot gas stream, and if necessary with the addition of additional charges to the charge of waste materials; b) the temperature in the combustion chamber is reduced to the range of 1200 to 1500°C; c) the flue gases are cooled in a waste heat boiler and the waste heat is recovered; d) soot is removed in a gas purifier; e) non-combustible, non-volatile residues are removed in the form of slag.</p> |
