A device, which is used to measure the prestressing force of screwed connections during the screwing operation, consists of an adaptor unit which is arranged between the screwing tool and the screw to be tightened. Said adaptor unit comprises a combination of a screw and a nut which are identical to those which form the screwed connection to be established, and also a force-measuring device which is arranged between the screw and the nut and can be acted upon by these latter. Furthermore, it comprises a transmission element which is connected non-positively to the nut. The force-measuring device preferably consists of a sleeve which is arranged on the screw and to which strain gauges are applied in the axial direction. <IMAGE>
