Process for the preparation of the product of formula <IMAGE> characterised in that an imine of formula Ar<1>-CH<2>-N = CH-Ar<2> II in which Ar<1> and Ar<2> are different and denote a 2-thienyl or 2-chlorophenyl group is reduced by a chemical or electrochemical route or by catalytic hydrogenation.
