According to the invention, a device (10) is proposed for conveying a liquid propellant (14) into a metering chamber (58) of a weapon with a barrel, having a tank (12) close to the weapon, the liquid propellant state (14) in the tank (12) close to the weapon being separated from a gaseous state (18) for the application of pressure, by means of a further liquid state of a washing means (16). This is used to avoid a possible safety-critical mixed-state formation of a gaseous state (18) and liquid propellant (14), which would greatly increase the impact sensitivity of the propellant. The individual states in the tank (12) close to the weapon can be removed from the tank (12) close to the weapon via a plurality of lines (44, 48, 50), and are fed to a multiway valve (34) and from there separately to the metering chamber (58) of the weapon with a barrel. The device (10) according to the invention thus makes possible not only safe conveyance and accommodation of the liquid propellant (14) in the tank (12) close to the weapon, but also creates a capability for cleaning the metering chamber (58) of the weapon with a barrel. <IMAGE>
